Architecture Biennale, Lavazza: "Golden Lion to Canal Cafè is a great satisfaction"

"Learning that the Canal Cafè project has won the Golden Lion for best participation in the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale is a great satisfaction for me. We immediately chose to be supporters of this visionary and multidisciplinary project that reflects on the great challenge of recovering fresh water". This is what Francesca Lavazza, Board Member Lavazza Group, says, commenting on the award, offering her "compliments to the curator of Intelligens Natural Artificial Collctive, Carlo Ratti, and to the team of designers and technical experts, together with chef Davide Oldani".

Canal Café, created by a multidisciplinary team that includes the New York design studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro, chef Davide Oldani, technical experts from Natural Systems Utilities and Sodai, and architecture critic Aaron Betsky is a project of phytoremediation of water through a hybrid system of natural and artificial purification that aims to reflect on the theme of the great challenge of the recovery of fresh water. Canal Café, at the end of the Corderie path, is a visionary laboratory, but will also guarantee a coffee break.

In addition to Canale Cafè, the Lavazza Group is a supporter of the projects 'The Third Paradise Perspective' and 'Voice of Commons and a donor' of the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
